William Hargett Obituary

William "Bill" Hargett died Friday, November 20, 2009 at the age of 79 in his home in Ridgefield, WA.
Bill devoted his life to the fire service. He began his career as a fire fighter in Glendale, CA and then joined the L.A. City Fire Department where he worked as an Inspector and Captain. He moved to Washington and accepted a position as a Deputy Fire Marshall and most recently served as Fire Commissioner for Clark County.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rita; his four children; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and reception will take place at St. Philip Catholic Church, 430 Bozarth Street, Woodland, WA on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 1605 N. 65th Avenue, Ridgefield, WA.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Clark County Fire and Rescue, Fire Fighter's Association, 911 N. 65th Avenue, Ridgefield, WA.
Layne's Funeral Home, Battle Ground, WA is in care of arrangements.
