Elsa Cole Obituary

ELSA "LUCILE" COLE
Feb. 24, 1912 ~ Nov. 28, 2009

Elsa "Lucile" Cole of Vancouver, WA, completed a long and eventful journey of 97 years on Nov. 28, 2009. She has left us to be reunited with her devoted husband Earl, of 69 years. She was born Feb. 24, 1912 in Wichita, KS to Effie (Barton) and Carl S. Everett.
Lucile spent her life, with Earl, running their businesses including a butcher shop and marina in Camas and Washougal, WA.
She was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church of Camas and was actively involved in the community.
After retirement, Lucile and Earl lived in Palm Desert, CA and Sun City West, AZ. During this time they traveled all over the world, then returned to Vancouver, WA in 2001 to be near their family.
Lucile is survived by her four children, Louis (Linda) Cole of Vancouver, Kay Taft of Redmond, Kenneth (Milagros) Cole of Surabaya, Indonesia, and Jerry (Harriet) Cole of Vancouver; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a former daughter-in-law, Judie Cole of Vancouver.
Although we all are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in the knowledge that she is once again dancing with her beloved Earl.
A Celebration of Life and reception will be held Sat., Dec. 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Waterford at Fairway Village, 2911 SE Village Loop Vancouver, WA 98683.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southwest Washington Medical Center Foundation, Ray Hickey Hospice House or Hospice Southwest, PO Box 1600, Vancouver, WA, 98668. WWW.swmedicalcenter.org/foundation.

To Lucile's Family,
Lucile was a treasure to us. We have missed her tremdously since she and Earl moved back to Washington State. The two of them were dear friends and were exceptional Hosts at many parties.
No one could compare with Luciles cooking. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel.
With love,

Mrs. Cole was a friend of my Mother for a number of years, and I was lucky to meet her several times. She was a very nice lady, and a very bright and cheerful soul.

Aunt Lucille and Uncle Earl were such warm and frienldy people. Once you were a part of their family you were always welcome. I will always fondly remember visiting them in WA, in Palm Desert with my daughters Michele and Therese and later in Sun City. My condolences to the family. Kay (Bart's ex-wife)

What an inspiration! Grandma Cole led by example. She had a long, happy marriage. She was never afraid to try new things and travel the world. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her. We will alway miss you, Grandma Cole.

It has been 22 years on 12/07 that I lost my mother suddenly. You never forget all the little things they did for you. You are a wonderful fun and loving family and I hope you can all be together again to honor her passing.

Although we are not blood relations, we are honored to have known and spent time with dear Grandma Cole. She was a sweet and classy lady, in a beautifully old-fashioned. She was the loving matriarch of a wonderful family that we are privileged to know. Grandma Cole will be missed.

I am grateful for the several years I spent in the Phoenix area with my parents and Lucille and Earl.
Sunday dinners are now just a memory but they are fine memories.
Lucille was an integral part of my growth.
She was a huge influence in the life of my father, Gene.
God Bless you Lucille.

Grandma Cole was very important in my life. She had a strong spirit that was an inspiration to all of us. I feel very blessed to have her in my life for 47 years. Few people have the special opportunity to spend that many wonderful years with their grandmother. I will miss you very much! You are in a better place now and are home with Grandpa. Keep dancing in heaven. I will always love you.

Grandma Cole was an amazing woman. She was a leader and an example of a hard worker. My favorite memories of Grandma Cole were hearing about her and Grandpa Cole's recent journey's to all the countries they visited. I will miss you Grandma Cole; your memory will live on in my heart forever. Keep Dancing~

It was very special to have Mom with us for so many years. She kept us grounded in family values and taught us the importance of maintaining a lasting work ethic. We will miss Mom very much, but will have lasting memories of her sense of fun, the importance of a loving relationship, and her love of life.
