DELLA DORINE (PEREZ) LIEDKIE

Della Dorine (Perez) Liedkie was born in Portland, OR, Dec. 23, 1939. She passed away April 4, 2024, in
Vancouver, WA. In her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Myrtle Perez; and her brother, Alan Perez. She is survived by her twin brother, Dell Perez (Linda); and other siblings, Lela Tarbell, Linda Closner (Dale), Peggy Hurlocker (Andy), Debbie Perez, and Dan Perez (Laurie).
In her early years, the family moved around before settling in Portland where Della graduated from Jefferson High School. She worked briefly as a candy striper at Emmanuel Hospital and met her husband, Michael “Mike” Liedkie, while he was serving in the United States Coast Guard. They were married May 21, 1960.
The couple began their family and Mike enrolled in Multnomah School of the Bible. They had four children by the time he graduated. Following graduation, the family moved to Rosalia, WA, where they spent the next 10 years planting and growing a Baptist church. While in Rosalia, they had two more children.
From there, they moved to the
Vancouver, WA, area where they had one more child. Della was passionate about helping, defending and caring for those who needed help. She helped provide end of life care for both of her parents and took in her brother, Alan, when he was fighting cancer.
She enjoyed sewing and crafts. She ran a daycare business and worked at a variety of jobs, including Brindar Design. She loved attending family gatherings and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Rick, and is survived by her remaining six children, Ron (Joanie), Randy (Bettie Mae), Jill (Roland), Jenny (Matteo), Rod, and Ryan (Eden). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
The family is planning a combined service for Mike and Della Liedkie at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 7, at Bethel Community Church of
Washougal, WA.
