Wesley Sutton Obituary

WESLEY DEAN SUTTON
March 12, 1956 ˜ July 26, 2024

Wesley Dean Sutton, age 68, of Battle Ground, WA, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side July 26, 2024, following a brief battle with cancer.

Wes was born in Pico Rivera, CA, March 12, 1956, to Carl and Eva Sutton. He graduated from Bishop Amat High School and later attended the University of San Diego, where he met his wife, Carla.

Wes and Carla were married in 1978, welcomed two children, Ryan and Carey, then moved to Battle Ground in 1983. Wes spent many years working as a custodian for the Battle Ground School District, retiring in 2010 when his first grandchild was born. Wes enjoyed coaching Little League and camping with family and friends in his younger years. After retirement, he was passionate about caring for his four adoring grandchildren and was the most loyal and avid attendee of their sports and school events. He also loved music and travel, and frequently reminisced about his trip to Italy with his family.

Wes was preceded in death by his father, Carl Sutton and mother, Eva Ardelean. He is survived by his wife, Carla; his brother, Eldon Lewis; his sister, Cheryl Flack (Jerry); his son, Ryan Sutton (Alix); his daughter, Carey Nolan (Chadd); his grandsons, Jackson Nolan, Tucker Sutton, and Henry Sutton; his granddaughter, Ella Nolan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sutton home on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 10, in Battle Ground. Friends of Wes are invited to attend from 2-6 p.m.

I Am pretty sure that Wes lived in Burbank during his teenage junior high school days. At Jordan Jr.High I used to hang out with Wes and even went over to his house many times because he lived right down the street from the school. I remember that he was really into dirt bikes at that time. I was in 9th grade and Wes was in 8th grade back then. This was in 1970 that I am referring to. After graduating from Jordan Jr. High I moved to North Hollywood. I never saw Wes again after this, but I saw his obituary on line and I am saddened to hear of his passing. Rest in peace Wes. I remember I used to tell Sherman Wong that Sutton would hurt him if he kept pestering me. This was all in fun, but I remember it to this day. Sincerely. --- Steve Cook. P.S. --- If this is the wrong Wesley Sutton please accept my deepest apologies.

I worked at BGHS with Wes! He could always make us laugh! A couple of us were talking about him yesterday and wondering how he was doing. I was sad to see he had moved on from this crazy world. Thinking of the Sutton family in this difficult time.
