William Harper Obituary
October 9, 1953 ˜ January 22, 2026
William “Rick” Harper, Jr., of Lake Oswego (born Greensboro, NC), passed into eternal rest on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Legacy Meridian Hospital in Tualatin. He was 72 years old, dying of natural causes. He was held lovingly by his devoted wife, Kaaren, and son, John. Rick was a force for great civic good throughout his life, and was a well-known leader in business, government and charity in Oregon, as well as in Texas and Alaska. A memorial service and celebration of life will take place at the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, January 31, at 4:30 p.m. His funeral service will be held in his birthplace of Greensboro, North Carolina. The funeral date will be published soon, along with a detailed obituary commemorating Rick’s cherished and generous life.
