Troy Stevens Obituary

TROY G. STEVENS
March 30, 1970 ˜ November 14,
2021

Troy was born in Vancouver, WA, to Gary and Sharon Stevens. He lived there for 32 years. Troy passed away at a Convalescent & Rehab facility in Bremerton, WA, due to complications of cancer.
He attended schools in both Evergreen and Battle Ground districts. He also attended Brush Prairie Baptist Christian school. Troy graduated from Prairie High School in 1988.
Troy worked at different jobs while he lived in Vancouver. He worked for Reality Sign Company, A.K.E.I. and Hewlett Packard through Volt Temporary Services. He also worked as a bouncer at a club in Portland, OR.
He loved going to the beach at Ocean Shores with his family. He loved fishing and camping at Mar Don Resort due to the good bass fishing.
Troy was obsessed with Buicks and owned 3-4 of them at different times with his ultimate favorite being a 1970 Buick GSX.
As a young man he was infatuated with the stars, planets and outer space. He was amazed with the Hubble telescope and everything it showed in the universe. When the Star Trek films came on the scene, he was hooked & wanted to be an astronaut but due to his stature and weight that was impossible.
He became a fan of different types of racing. It started with the Indy Car races in Portland, OR. His all-time favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. in NASCAR. In 1997 he got to attend the NW National drags in Kent, WA, with his parents. He also enjoyed the Sprint Boat races in Port Angeles, WA.
In ’2002’ Troy & his brother moved to Sequim to live with their mother. Troy had many health issues.
After moving to Sequim, Troy took up photography. He joined a Camera Club and enjoyed the new friends he made. The Camera Club had a booth at the local county fair every year and he volunteered to help at the booth. He also entered his photographs for judging. He developed eye problems and had to give up photography.
He was also interested in different types of computer gaming. While playing an online game he met the “Love of his Life”. Her name was Candace Duckworth and she lived in Quebec, Canada. They fell in love and in November 2017, Troy moved to Canada. He moved there to help take care of her son Mason who Troy treated and loved as his own son. While in Canada he was able to attend a Comicon event with Candace and Mason. He was always captivated with those events. Due to his health issues he returned to Sequim in April 2018. He never got to return to Canada. Candace passed away, 1 month and 3 days after Troy. They both died due to complications of Cancer.
After returning to Sequim, Troy discovered Anime Kat in Port Angeles where they played board and card game events. He spent many hours playing at these events. Troy was a very caring and loving person. He would talk to anyone. No one was ever a stranger. He always wanted to encourage those who were down and let them know someone cared.
He fought a long and hard fight with his illnesses but finally the Lord said that was enough. He will always be missed and loved forever.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon; his older brother, Gary, Jr.; his fiance, Deon; four uncles, two aunts, two nieces, two step-nieces, as well as great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and second cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary; grandparents, two uncles and a cousin. A Celebration of Life will be held in Vancouver, WA, on July 16, 2022.
Troy was cremated and his ashes will be spread in different locations at his request.

We are so sorry for your loss. We learned of Troy's passing when Gary shared it on Facebook, but it still seemed like a surprise to see his obituary on the Daily News website. We think of Troy as being a sweet kid. He was able to accomplish many interesting things in his adult life. May the Lord and memories give you comfort and peace.
