He developed eye problems and had to give up photography.
He was also interested in different types of computer gaming. While playing an online game he met the “Love of his Life”. Her name was Candace Duckworth and she lived in Quebec, Canada. They fell in love and in November 2017, Troy moved to Canada. He moved there to help take care of her son Mason who Troy treated and loved as his own son. While in Canada he was able to attend a Comicon event with Candace and Mason. He was always captivated with those events. Due to his health issues he returned to Sequim in April 2018. He never got to return to Canada. Candace passed away, 1 month and 3 days after Troy. They both died due to complications of Cancer.
After returning to Sequim, Troy discovered Anime Kat in Port Angeles where they played board and card game events. He spent many hours playing at these events. Troy was a very caring and loving person. He would talk to anyone. No one was ever a stranger. He always wanted to encourage those who were down and let them know someone cared.
