Robert Scott Obituary

ROBERT STEWART SCOTT SR.
August 29, 1948 ˜ May 20, 2021

Robert (Bob), 72, died peacefully, May 20, 2021, at his home in Vancouver, WA. He was born Aug. 29, 1948, in Vancouver and graduated from Hudson’s Bay H.S. in 1966.
Bob worked many years in construction helping build the 205 bridge and working on the Bonneville Dam. He then decided to change careers studying and achieving his Master Plumbers license. Working for Markman Plumbing in Portland, he helped re-plumb OHSU hospital. He was also a proud member of the Local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union UA290 when he retired.
After retirement you might find Bob riding his 10-speed bike around Vancouver and Portland shopping and enjoying the world from a more intimate perspective.
Bob loved the water and all water sports. His years in sailboat racing were especially thrilling for him.
Bob was known by his family and friends as a passionate happy guy who was constantly working on improving his health physically, mentally and spiritually. Always searching for a greater understanding of All That Is. He was a great supporter to those in need of encouragement, strength or support of any kind.
Bob enjoyed gardening, having a community garden at Vancouver Center and creating unique plantings in his own yard, 10’ artichoke plants are quite a conversation starter.
Bob loved to tell stories about his younger days with a boisterous lilting laughter that consumed the room. He was interested in natural remedies and essential oils often diffusing wonderful fragrances throughout his home.
”Big Book” Bob was a long-standing grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) where he found many years of serenity and friendships.
Mr. Scott will be missed by many and is survived by his daughter, Robin Jumalon; and son, Robert Scott Jr.; three grandchildren, Kyle Cresap, Hailey Scott and Lucas Jumalon; his sister, Linda Scott; and several nieces, nephews and cousins throughout western Washington.
There will be a celebration of his life at Hazel Dell Community Park, 2300 NE 68th St., Vancouver, WA on June 12 at noon.
