Rachel graduated from Prairie High School in 2010 having become fluent in American Sign Language and proudly and gleefully participating in the Variety Show. While in high school she joined in a mission trip to Argentina where she helped to build a playground and teach children games in a village called Samuh. She graduated from Oregon State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. While attending college she was an active participant in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, which became her main support group and core group of friends during and after college. She was an avid Beaver baseball and women’s basketball fan, frequently attending games even after graduation!
Rachel had worked as a Farm Hand for over 10 years for a local llama farm, as well as serving as a pet sitter for the past several years.
Hobbies included arts and crafts, painting, reading, music, movies, games, and learning and sharing animal facts. Rachel was very active in the llama community. She was a fierce competitor, particularly in showmanship, a friend to llamas and those who love them. Northwest llama breeders noticed her showmanship prowess and she was asked to exhibits animals for many different farms in the area over the years.
