OLIVE A. HUBBARD
September 24, 1918 ~ February 13, 2013

Olive A. Hubbard, of Washougal, WA, died Feb. 13, 2013, with her husband, George, at her side. She was born in Boise, ID, Sept. 24, 1918, to Charles S. Rodgers and Sylvia Carringer Rodgers. Olive was always energetic and helpful. As a girl, she loved dancing and swimming.
Olive married early and had two daughters. That marriage ended in divorce and several years later, she married Edward Erickson who was drafted into the Navy Seabees in 1944. She and her daughters came to Washougal, WA because her brother and sister lived here. It was then she began working in the Pendleton Woolen Mills.
Edward Erickson was killed in an automobile accident. George Hubbard married Olive on May 7, 1948. George and Olive had been happily married 64 years.
George and Olive bought 40 acres east of Washougal and spent time happily farming. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren could often be found there eating, swimming, or "helping."
Olive is survived by her husband, George; daughter, Carabelle Hubbard (Bing); grandchildren, Mike Hubbard (Lynn), Patrick Hubbard (Donna), Ronda Hanson (Ronald), Robin Kimball (Richard), Roxanne Stevens (Charles); eight great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Olive Hubbard's daughter, Thelma Jean (Toby) Wilmes; sisters, Vera Koski and Mary Stanton; brother, Edward Rodgers; and grandsons, Mark Gadbaw, Matthew Gadbaw, and Joseph Hubbard, preceded her in death.
The memorial service will be at St. Anne's Episcopal Church at 2350 Main St., Washougal, WA at 11:00 a.m., Wed., Feb. 20, 2013.
