JOHN PETTY
October 12, 1945 ˜ June 4, 2021

John Petty, a longtime resident of Woodland, WA, passed June 4, 2021, while vacationing in Arizona with his wife of 55 years, Denice Woodin Petty.
John was born Oct. 12, 1945, in California to the late Jim Petty formerly of Toledo, WA, and to Lola Petty Kroon of Arizona.
Denice and John were married at the Presbyterian Church of Woodland, Dec. 11, 1965. They had two daughters, Angie Mars and Audrey (Mark) Turbin, both of La Center, WA. They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
After graduating from Woodland High School in Woodland, John began a career in law enforcement, as a police officer at the Woodland Police Station.
John soon developed his talent as an entrepreneur and became a well-known business man in the La Center and Woodland areas of Washington, as well as, in the western United States. He planted many fields of Christmas trees and pumpkins which he sold seasonally in the western states. He developed the home sites for Looking Glass Estates, an executive residential community in La Center. At one point in his career he owned and managed a tire store in Chahalis, WA. He continued his varied business ventures until his death.
On his latest project, John and his wife Denice worked together, planning and developing a park in the La Center area that could be used as a venue for weddings and other special occasions.
The memorial service for John will be held at this beautiful park located at 2699 NE 369th, La Center, WA, August 28, 2021, at 1:00 p.m.
