Garry Duhamel Obituary

GARRY GENE DUHAMEL SR
December 5, 1938 ˜ July 3, 2025

Garry Duhamel, Sr. passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025 at the age of 86. He was surrounded by loved ones within his home in Eugene, OR that he shared with his wife Elaine of nearly 39 years. Garry was an active and vibrant person who was devoted to his family and friends. As a veteran, Garry began serving our country in high school within the Marines, ROTC. After graduation, he joined the Air Force. He earned a degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, which he put into practice to create machine parts until his retirement. Garry could often be seen tinkering and inventing ways to do anything better. He loved helping neighbors with yardwork, sharing stories, having a nice craft beer or scotch and seeking out every dog he could. He and Elaine knew every dog in the neighborhood from their daily morning walks and charming chats with his neighbors. Garry was well-known for his sense of humor and easy laugh. He will be truly missed by many. Garry is survived by his wife, Elaine Duhamel; his sister, Rena Albee; four children (Cheri, Tracey, Michelle & Garry); two step-children (Terri & Kathy); 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many friends.

My heart goes out to you Elaine. It's been years since we all worked at Spectra Physics. I admired the love you and Garry showed for each other.
