DEBORAH “DEBBIE” ANN VIGIL
1953 ˜ 2022
With deep sadness we announce that Debbie passed away surrounded by family on Dec. 15, 2022.
Debbie was born Deborah Ann Alsteen to John and Lillian Alsteen on Feb. 8, 1953, in
Vancouver, WA, and was a lifetime resident. She attended high school in Vancouver and Portland . She worked a variety of jobs before entering into hospitality where she worked for many years.
Debbie met Robert Vigil in 1973 and married in 1985 spending nearly 50 years together,. They raised two children. Debbie was an exceptional mother, the mom who brought treats to school, made cakes for birthdays, roller skated, danced, and created many wonderful memories. One of her greatest joys was being a Grandma and she left an indelible mark in the lives of her grandchildren with her love, care and some great stories.
Debbie enjoyed sewing, crocheting, dancing, music, trips with her sisters and a good visit over a cup of coffee with family and friends. Her home was host to many family gatherings. She was a little woman with a big personality, she was known for her straightforwardness and a laugh that will be missed by many.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, John Alsteen; and her mother, Lillian Alsteen.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Vigil; son, Tyrone Alsteen (Courtney); daughter, Tiffany Vigil Hauge (Matt); grandchildren, Deshawn (Galynn), Jordan, Tanner, Corey, Lauren, Taytm and Parker; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kymani and Sophia; siblings, Tom Alsteen (Colleen), Trudy Manning, Patty Gamble, Jackie Becker, Bruce Alsteen (Stella) and John Alsteen; and many nieces and nephews, adored brother and sister-in-laws as well as dear friends.
Debbie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
