DAVID TIMOTHY BALAS
December 25, 1961 ~ July 16, 2014
David Timothy Balas, 52, of Vancouver, WA, passed away at his home on July 16, 2014.
David lived a robust 52 years filled with walking, dancing, reading, writing and drawing.
He was a Special Olympics medalist, was active in his local church, and attended every social event he could.
Born in Chicago in 1961, he moved to Vancouver in 1992 where he continued leading an active life.
He loved I Love Lucy, Sonny and Cher, Buddy Holly and, most of all, his friends and family.
David was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Thomas; and sisters, Patricia and Bernadine.
David is survived by his sisters, Pamela and Gerry; his brother, Tim; and many nieces and nephews.
Two services will honor David: one in Vancouver and one in Chicago. The Vancouver service will be held on Sunday, July 27, at 1 p.m. at Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home, 302 W 11th Street, Vancouver, WA 98660.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to honor his wish to be buried in Chicago with his parents and sisters.

Uncle David taught me so much about life. Put friends and family above all else, be nice to everyone, laugh until it hurts, dance even if you're the only one dancing, wear what you dig and do what makes you happy. I'll miss you Uncle D. xo
