BEVERLY JEAN BLAIR
Sept. 21, 1935 ~ Nov. 28, 2008

Beverly Jean Blair passed away Fri., Nov. 28, 2008 in her Camas, WA home after a seven year battle with colon cancer at the age of 73. She was born Sept. 21, 1935 in Portland, OR. She attended Shumway Junior High School and graduated from Woodland High School in 1953.
She went on to excel academically achieving Summa Cum Laude in both her BS and Masters degrees at PSU.
Beverly began her teaching career at Lewisville Middle School, then designed two libraries and worked as the Media Specialist at Pleasant Valley and Prairie High School where she retired in 1997.
She directed and taught Sunday School and advanced courses as her knowledge of history/biblical studies was extensive. Beverly influenced many friends and families through her strong Christian faith and awareness of social and world problems.
She was a organist/pianiast, choir director, soloist and an Elder in the LaCamas Community of Christ Church in Camas. Her most memorable singing experiences included, singing a duet for a crowd of 3,000 in 1964 in Richmond, VA, traveling to Europe with the Vancouver Brahms singers, and portraying Mother Superior in Prairie High School "Sound of Music". Bev enjoyed traveling the U.S., Hawaii, cruise to Alaska, but especially annual trips to the beach with her grandchildren.
Bev is survived by her husband, Paul Blair; son, Glenn Blair and wife, Corrinne of Camas; daughter, Sandra Cronbaugh and husband, Steve of Battle Ground, WA; grandchildren, Hannah and Elijah Cronbaugh; father, Kenneth Nottingham; sister, Barbara Karnis; brother, Phillip Nottingham; step-brothers, Ron and Rick Becker.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie (Chapman) Becker; step-father, Milton Becker; and her beloved granddaughter, Rebecca Rose Blair.
Her memorial service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Chapel on Sun., Dec. 7, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.
