Alan Schumacher Obituary

ALAN WILLIAM SCHUMACHER
December 17, 1940 ˜ April 23, 2021

Alan was born in Vancouver, WA, to parents William and Leona Schumacher. After graduating as Valedictorian from Battle Ground High school he went off to attend college at Washington State University. He soon realized that his true passion was back home at the small family farm in Heisson, WA. He returned to the farm and through his sister Isabel met the love of his life Alice Turner, a nurse in training at Good Samaritan school of Nursing in Portland, OR .They married, had three children, and together grew their property into a successful 220 acre farming operation. After his wife Alice passed, he shared time with a special friend Dorothy Shepard. Alan continued to work the ground he loved until his body could no longer meet the task. Alan loved everything about nature. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the yearly road trips with his family after the harvest was finished. In his older years he enjoyed visiting and giving tours with his side by side through his forest and fields. Alan was greatly respected in the community and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Alan was preceded in death by his wife Alice and sister Isabel Huestis of Thorne Bay Alaska.
Alan is survived by his son, Dan with Audra; daughter, Maria with Richard; son, Burt with Diane; brothers, Lawrence and Robin; grandchildren, Bridgett with Shafer, Joe with Amber, Madison, Max, Tanner; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Colton.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. July 16, 2021, at Crawford Cemetery located at 20011 NE Allworth Rd (now NE 244th St), Battle Ground, WA.
