Tony Bott Obituary

Tony Bott was born Oct 6, 1919 to Claude L. and Eliza Bruno Bott in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He passed away March 21, 2007. The family moved to the USA in 1927 and lived in various places in Washington, settling in Bellingham, where he completed his schooling. He became a barber until enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. Serving in the Pacific. He took part in the invasion of Bouganville in the Solomon Islands and later the invasion of Guam in the Mariannas. Upon discharge he became a longshoreman from 1946 to 1965, holding various union offices in Vancouver, Wash. In 1965 he transferred to Clerks and Supercargo's, Local 40, of Pacific Maritime Assoc., Portland, Ore. He was a Supercargo when he retired in 1985. Since 1985 he spent six months or more of each year in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He had a lifetime interest in photography and possessed awards for his efforts. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. In 1992, he married Nancy Vukalcic. He was preceded in death by brother, Alvin in 1928 and sister, Edytha, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sister, Joan of Portland, Ore.; brothers, Forrest of Santa Cruz, Calif. and Dale of Vancouver, Wash.; sons, Bruce Bott of Vancouver, B.C. Canada and Kent Bott of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter on the way. A celebration of life will be on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at 3:00pm, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112 Ave, Vancouver, WA 98684. Please, no flowers. Instead, donations may be made to the SW Wash. Humane Society, 2121 St. Francis Lane, Vancouver, WA.
