Ronald Beeks Obituary

RONALD MARK BEEKS
June 26, 1950 ~ March 30, 2010

Ronald "Ron" Beeks of Vancouver, Washington died March 30, 2010. He was born in Yakima and raised in Vancouver, Washington. Ron graduated from Hudson's Bay High School in 1968. He served in the Army National Guard from 1969 to 1974.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Donna; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jennifer Beeks; daughter and son-in-law, Janna and Tom Moats; and son, Jared Beeks. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Beeks; sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Jim Kerstein; and other extended family. Additionally, Ron is survived by grandchildren, Jasaira and Jack Beeks and Hannah and Ava Moats.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Beeks.

Ron's work history included seven years at the City of Vancouver Police Department and 23 years with the Port of Vancouver as the Chief of Security. He was also an active member of Cascades Presbyterian Church where he participated in the F.I.S.H outreach and grounds upkeep. His interests included reading, golfing, hunting for treasures, and cooking. Ron especially enjoyed being "Poppie" to his four beautiful grandchildren.

Wild adventures were never far away with Ron's ability to tell a story. He always left you pondering where reality ended and the fantastic world of fantasy began. Ron kept us laughing with his innate ability to use phrases such as "Holy Whoopski" as a term of excitement and endearment. Ron was a blessing to his family and friends. He will be loved and missed forever.

A memorial service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Garden in Vancouver, Washington on Tuesday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers you may wish to donate to Cascades Presbyterian Church 9503 NE 86th Street, Vancouver, WA 98662.

It was always a pleasure to spend time with Ron and his family. One of our favorite memories was the time Poppie shared his "John Deer" tractor with his young grandson and his buddies for Jackson's birthday party. The children loved helping Poppie drive the tractor. Thank you, Ron for leaving a legacy of good memories for your family and friends to cherish. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
