Robert Agard Obituary
Robert "Robbie" Belknap Agard, Jr., 63, died November 1, 2006 in Hermiston, OR. He was born May 16, 1943 in Gooding, ID, and was a 61-year resident of Clark County, residing in Battle Ground, WA.
Robbie was raised on a dairy farm located on 199th Street in Battle Ground. He attended Battle Ground High School and graduated from BGHS in 1961. Robbie married his high school sweetheart, Pearl, in 1964. They lived in the Battle Ground area for many years.
Robbie owned and operated the construction companies Robert Agard Construction and Winterlake, LLC. During this time, he did underground utility and road construction as well as property development. Robbie's display of care for the land and concern to provide quality living spaces is evidenced in such housing developments as Larson's Meadow, Tudor's Glen and Enzler's Meadow. Robbie retired in 2000. Robbie and Pearl have enjoyed spending winters in Arizona since his retirement.
Robbie loved spending time with family and friends, going clamming at the coast, dancing and horseback riding in the Superstition Mts. in Arizona. He was a member of Arizona Trail Assoc., East Valley Back Country Horsemen.
Robbie was generous and believed in sharing what he was blessed with. He proposed and helped fund the Battle Ground Education Foundation through a program that recognizes excellent teachers in the Battle Ground School District through the "Teachers Make a Difference" .
Robbie was passionate in his support of the 4-H & FFA Market Livestock Auction held at the Clark County Fair. Robbie believed, "We need to support good kids that are working towards being good citizens!"
Robbie is survived by his wife, Pearl, at home; sister, Vicki (Jake) Swalling of Brush Prairie, WA; brothers, Mike (Cathi) Agard of Ridgefield, WA and Barry (Stephanie) Agard of Vancouver, WA.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, 11:00am, at Manor Evangelical Church, Battle Ground, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Teachers Make a Difference", BGEF, P.O.
