Louise Prohaska Obituary

LOUISE FRANCES PROHASKA
April 26, 1917 ~ May 26, 2016

Louise Frances Prohaska of Vancouver, WA, passed away May 26, 2016. She was born April 26, 1917 in Ingrahm Island, OR to Joseph and Mary Prohaska. She graduated from Vancouver High School in 1934.
Louise worked during the war as a Rosie the Riveter and later as a truck driver, maid, secretary and bartender.
She enjoyed sewing and shopping. Her love of travel took her to the jungles of Costa Rica, Mexico, and 8 European countries.
Louise was happiest when surrounded by her family. She loved cooking for them, giving them gifts and listening to the stories of their happy moments in their lives and sympathizing with the unhappy times. Her gift was to make you feel like the most special person in the room. She was a quiet, sweet person who loved unconditionally but could also be very protective if she thought you were hurting someone she cared for.
Her love, kindness, and generosity will be
greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Deanna Middaugh and Sharon Lorenson; grandchildren, Randy, Todd, Gregg, and Scott Middaugh, Carie Bishop-Sanders, and Joe Bishop; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Glen Prohaska.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Lawrence, Boyce, Dale, and Robert Prohaska.
A memorial service will be held at her church, Glenwood Community Church, June 25, 2016 at 11a.m.
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at SW WA Medical Center, Floor 6, for the tender loving care they gave her.

Louise was a very special person to me.
I worked for her in the restaurant and stayed with her and Sharon a lot. She was like a mother to me. I will miss her a lot.
