Lawrence Silk Obituary
LAWRENCE EVERETT SILK
May 15, 1933 ~ February 6, 2018
Lawrence Everett Silk was born on May 15th, 1933 in White Earth, Minnesota to Lawrence John and Alice Mae Silk who were proud members of the Sioux and Chippewa Nations respectively.
In 1954, he joined the United States Air Force where he served over 20 years with three deployments to Vietnam. During wartime he proudly served in Da Nang and Pleiku in both the Red HORSE and Prime BEEF Engineering Squadrons.
In his civilian life he retired from a 17 year career at Freightliner. Lawrence's greatest love in life was working with his hands from morning until night.
He passed away peacefully in his sleep under hospice care. He is survived by his Wife of 60 years, Barbara Ernestine Silk; his 5 Daughters and 4 Sons: Bev, Larry, Elizabeth, Steve, Sandy, Doug, Ricky, Trina and Julie; his 20 Grandchildren and many Great-Grandchildren.
A Memorial and Flag Ceremony are planned for Friday, March 9th, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at The Willamette National Cemetery.
