LAVADA SONNEY HARRIS
1923 ˜ 2022
LaVada Sonney Harris was born Aug. 3, 1923, to Buron and Mable Sonney, in Marmaduke, AR. She moved with her family and settled in Ridgefield where she lived the rest of her life. There, she met the love of her life, Wallace Harris. They were married for 69 years.
She graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1941 and worked at the Army Financial Office until 1947.
Her hobbies included working in the garden, being a member of the Vancouver Chrysanthenum Society, and was involved with her church. They enjoyed RVing in Canada and the U.S.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; and is survived by her sons, Joe (Lynn) and Jerry (Becky); and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salmon Creek Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held March 30, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Northwood Park Cemetery.

Dear Jerry and Joe and families, My sincere love and condolences to you. Your mom, dad too, were the sweetest ever. She was always so gracious and calm with the prettiest smile. Mom enjoyed visiting with your parents. I just drove past your Sara home yesterday. The flowers were all in bloom. Our moms and dads were special, and Sara was a great neighborhood. Blessings.

40 years ago we walked through the doors of Salmon Creek Methodist Church and were greeted by Lavada and Wally who became lifetime friends. I will always remember Lavada's wonderful smile and her expert advise on how to grow plants when she worked at Yard'n Garden. Our church will miss them dearly.
