Jon Babcock Obituary
JON BABCOCK
Jon Babcock, 75, died on Monday, July 18, 2022, in Ridgefield, WA. He was a proud Navy veteran who served in Vietnam. Jon was a firefighter with Vancouver Fire for 31 years before retiring and served as Fire Commissioner in Ridgefield for 12 years. Jon enjoyed creating new stained glass pieces for friends and family and was an avid fisherman.
Jon is survived by his wife, Bj; sons, Jon (Cori) and Kim; daughter, Kate (Ian); and grandchildren, Kelly, Weston and Tegan; as well as his brother, Mike Babcock in North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Craig, and their parents, Claude and Pearl Babcock.
Jon’s celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., August 13, at the Vancouver Fire Union Hall, located at 2807 Fruit Valley Road in Vancouver, WA. The service will be conducted by family and friends. It will be a time to mourn, share memories with one another, see old friends and celebrate the life of a wonderful man. Aloha shirts are encouraged!
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to ‘No Kid Hungry’, www.nokidhungry.org, or take a friend for coffee and tell him or her the things we often think of when it is too late.

Jon was such a wonderful friend to his fellow fire fighter, Roger Duke. Jon would visit with Roger when he was so sick with a brain tumor. Jon also use to call me and invite me to
the firefighter´s breakfast, at the fire hall, after Roger passed on. Thank
you for your friendship and service Jon. You are missed. With love and

I still appreciate how he and Bj took care of me when I was so sick. I owe much to them. I remember the beautiful stained glass window that he created of Mother Hayward and sunset. He had kind words and many kind deeds. His sense of humor was dry but honest. He gave to the community in so many ways. Thanks, Jon
