JERRY R. MOOSE
January 9, 1938 ~ September 25, 2016

Jerry Redditt Moose, 78, USAF Msgt. Ret., of Vancouver, WA, went to be with the Lord Sept. 25, 2016, 7:15 a.m. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on Jan. 9, 1938.
Mr. Moose served 26 years with the United States Air Force, retiring from Travis Air Force base in August 1987. He was an aircraft mechanic on the B-52G, KC-135A, and then the C5A. For the last four years of his enlistment, Jerry served as the Base Motorcycle Safety Representative for Travis Air Force Base where he started a rider education program that is still in effect today.
After retiring from active duty, Jerry stayed active in the California Motorcycle Safety Program where he taught at Cycle Lloyds in Concord, CA and Antioch, CA for 14 years. In January 2004, he became a Rider Coach with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
During his overseas tour in Thailand, he was an aircraft mechanic on the KC-135A's and also worked for the American Forces Radio and Television Services as an announcer. Jerry had an interest for Stock Car racing and was involved with a local race team at the All American Speedway in Roseville, CA, called RWD Racing. He also had a great love for Southern Gospel music.
Mr. Moose is survived by his wife, Violet, of 45 years of Vancouver, WA; his sons, David Lee Moose and family of Nebraska and Willard C. Moose of Sacramento, CA; daughter, Tina M. Myers of Vancouver, WA; a granddaughter, Tamara M. Choate and family of Antioch, CA; his grandson, Josh Moose and great-grandson, Allen William Edward Choate, whom he was very proud of; and his close friends he made in church here, Ed and Aida Hanson, Richard and Loraine Rumer, and Jerry Ott and family.
