JANET MAY FILION
August 11, 1936 ~ March 13, 2018

Janet May Filion, 81, passed away peacefully in Washougal, WA on March 13, 2018. She was born to Fred and Hazel Schick on August 11, 1936. Janet was born and raised in Camas, WA, graduating from Camas High School in 1955. She was always proud to be a Papermaker and was an avid Papermaker football fan.
Janet worked for the Camas School District in food service for over 24 years.
Having been a majorette in high school, she decided to form the Camas Crownette's, a baton twirling group of elementary school aged girls sponsored by Crown Zellerbach Corporation. The group marched in both the Camas Days and Junior Rose Festival Parades.
Janet was a past member of the Fern Prairie Grange #866 and took great delight in designing grange booths for the Clark County Fair. She loved to knit and crochet and was always happy clamming and fishing in Long Beach, WA.
Janet is survived by two sons, Richard Jr. (Valerie) of Boulder, MT and Robert (Elizabeth) of Camas, WA; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hazel Schick; and her two sisters, Lois Evans and Margaret Finel.
There will be a celebration of Janet's life on Sat., July 7, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the meeting room at the Best Western Plus Parkersville in Washougal, WA.
