Evelyn Faye McCune
Devoted wife and mother
Evelyn Faye McCune, 94, passed in peace Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in Auburn, CA with her family by her side.
Evelyn was born March 2, 1920 in Wewoka, Ok, to Joseph and Olive Washburn.
In 1938, she married Leroy Walter McCune. Evelyn, Walter, and the first of their two daughters moved to Vancouver, WA during World War II in 1943. She happily resided there until 2013, when she moved to California to be closer to her great-grandchildren.
Evelyn loved sewing, camping and fishing. She was active in her daughters' schools and was an involved and caring grandmother. Throughout their 63 years of marriage, especially after Walter's retirement and the sale of his Clark County Roofing Company in 1974, Evelyn and Walter enjoyed traveling in a travel trailer. They traveled the West extensively, sometimes with a grandchild along for the ride.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Barbara Moll of Sacramento and April McDonald Loomis of Auburn, CA; her grandchildren, Jennifer Russell of Auburn, Candice Moll Bennett of Sacramento, and Andrew McDonald of San Diego; and her four great-grandchildren, Nathan and Alex Russell, Mirella and Graham Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband and her siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel, 1101 N.E. 112th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98684 (360) 892-6060. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society.

Barbara and April
I was sad to read that your mom has passed.
I feel blessed that I knew your mom all those years ago.
She was a wonderful person.
I will never forget her kindness and grace , not to mention her love of blue, her smile, and the cougar event.
Memories of her live on.
I want you to know that you and your family are in my thoughts during this difficult time

So sad to read the news about Evelyn this morning..I think about her very often as my family has such fond memories of Evelyn and Walter. We were neighbors for over 13 years. My children grew up around Mr. and Mrs. Mac...My son remembered today seeing Evelyn wield a hammer when they started building their new home next door to us. Evelyn made my daughter a beautiful Raggedy Ann doll which she still has.. Wonderful neighbors and friends.
Evelyn and I garage saled all the time; loved our antiques and books. She made the best hot rolls;would call me and say "come to the fence" where she would hand over a just baked pan of dinner rolls. I miss her and will never forget such a special person.

Evelyn was such a good friend to my mother Dolores. Evelyn and Mom would go to garage sales and look for antiques and bargains. Both Evelyn and my Mom were keen shoppers and could always find a good buy whether it was fabric for sewing or collectibles. I have so many fond memories of Evelyn. She was always so thoughtful and kind. And she really knew how to be a friend.
