EDWIN LESLIE BATES
February 22, 1923 ~ April 13, 2012
Edwin Bates, a resident of Vancouver, WA for 63 years, passed away on April 13, 2012.
He will be remembered for his devotion and love for God, family, and the people that were around him.
Ed served in the U.S. Army with the Trailblazers 70th Infantry Division during World War II.
Ed is survived by his second wife, Abbie; three sons, Charles (Yulia), Curtis (Kim) Clifford (Debbie); step-daughter-in-law, Carol Miller; brothers, Melvin (Mary), Howard (Glenna), Kenneth (Pat) and Frank (Natalie); sister, Joy (Don); four grandchildren; six great-grand- children; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 2:30 p.m. on Fri., April 20, 2012. Refreshments in his memory will be offered following the service.
Ed donated his body for medical research. Donations in his name may be sent to The First Presbyterian Church, 4300 Main St., Vancouver, WA 98663.
