Doris Stackhouse Obituary

Dec. 29, 1930 ~ Dec. 17, 2007- Doris M. Stackhouse passed away at her home in Vancouver, WA on Dec. 17, 2007 at the age of 76. She was born in Huron, SD on Dec. 29, 1930 to Irvin and Helen Jensen. The family moved to Vancouver, WA in 1943 where Doris met her future husband Donald in 1949 when he was getting out of the service (a memorable day with 2 feet on snow on the ground). They were married later in 1950 and had four children. Doris was involved in bowling most of her life, she served as the Director of the Portland Bowling Association and also the Junior League coordinator and coach for more than 20 years. She loved her yardwork, crocheting and had just made Christmas candy on Sunday. Despite her health challenges, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Doris is survived by her husband Donald of 57 years; sons Dirk Stackhouse, Mark Stackhouse, Scot Stackhouse; and daughter Connie Pratka; two brothers; three sisters; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
