Donna McNeil Obituary

DONNA EILEEN McNEIL
May 26, 1934 ˜ October 17, 2024

Donna (Danica Radunovich) Grill McNeil was born May 26, 1934, in Juneau, AK. She passed away on Oct. 17, 2024, as a result of complications from pneumonia. She was a first generation American, as her loving parents immigrated from Montenegro, Yugoslavia.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, she relished being with her family.
Donna married Rodney Grill and they raised two children, Eileen Harden and Shawn Grill. Donna and Rodney built custom homes throughout the western United States and Alaska. Rodney died in 1996.
Donna moved to Fairway Village in Vancouver, WA. An active person, she played golf with the 18-hole group, belonged to the Dinner Club and participated in many other activities. Donna had two holes in one during this time.
In 2005, she was introduced to a new Village resident, Richard “Mac” McNeil and they ended up getting married in 2006. A line in his proposal was, “What the future holds for people our age might not fill a book, perhaps only a page.” With that in mind, they started filling pages and took 13 cruises, a number of road trips and went to Palm Desert for two months each year, until the Pandemic hit.
Donna is survived by husband, Mac; daughter, Eileen; son, Shawn (Diane); and grandchildren, Amy Dawson (Billy), Jaime Wickstrom (Eric), and Chanel Brown, (Steve). She had six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Donations may be made in her name to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 16001 NE 34th St., Vancouver, WA 98682 or a charity of your choice.
Her Memorial will be in Auburn, WA, at Mountain View Cemetery, sometime in November.
