WILLIAM “BILL” GARY FERRELL
September 18, 1948 ˜ January 27, 2022
William “Bill” Gary Ferrell passed away from metastatic cancer Jan. 27, 2022, twenty-five years to the day after the passing of his beloved father. Bill was born Sept. 18, 1948, to William B. and Ruth J. Ferrell, the first of five children.
He was a fierce protector of his siblings; Jodie (Michael) Burke, Elizabeth Ferrell, Jennie (Gary) Leitch, and Jerry (Teresa) Ferrell. He was the loving uncle to ten nieces and nephews and twenty-three great and grand nieces and nephews.
Bill graduated from Hudson Bay High School in 1966, and immediately joined the Army. He served two tours in the Vietnam War and was awarded many honors during his tours of duty, including the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, the Good Conduct Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Three Outstanding Service Bars, and many others. He was discharged as a sergeant.
After discharge, Bill attended Clark College, and then graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Psychology. After trying his hand at different vocations, he became an Ironworker and was a proud member of Iron Workers Local 29. He was a staunch union supporter like his father before him.
Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 3, at 1:00 p.m. at Fern Prairie Cemetery, 26700 NE Robinson Road in Camas. The Patriot Guard Riders will escort his body from All County Cremation and Burial Services, 605 Barnes St. in Vancouver, at approximately 11:30 a.m.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Billy. I can remember having good times with the Ferrell family. So many good and funny times I could write a book. Those were the days when we could run all over Vancouver in the fields and woods. Thank you for the memories. Cindy Chattan Gilbert

Bill and I were in apprenticeship together at the Local 29 ironworkers. His voice was unique. He was a gentleman and I will miss him.

My condolences to the family and may you remember the good times.
I only knew Bill for a few years, and it was an honor and pleasure to know him.
Thank you for your service, good sir, and may you rest in peace, free from the earthly body that failed long before your spirit.
