Susan Fowells

June 28, 1936 ~ January 27, 2015

Susan Falk Fowells passed away Jan. 27, 2015 at home with a view of the river she loved so much. Born in Seattle, WA to Ernest and Genevieve Falk, she spent most of her childhood in Yakima, WA, where the plentiful fresh fruits and vegetables inspired a lifelong love of food and international cuisine.
After earning her Masters in Library Science at Syracuse University, she worked as a children's library media specialist in the Evergreen School District where she enjoyed delighting kids with a well-read story or the perfect book to fit their interests.
Sue was an active volunteer and leader with many groups, including her neighborhood association, the Columbia Arts Center, Chamber Music NW and Assistance League.
Fun and creative, she was passionate about puppetry, folk art, gardening, cooking, and international travel.
Sue will be greatly missed by her daughters, Linda, Julie and Kathy Fowells; son-in-law, Lu Kunene; grandson, Wilson; brother, Stephen Falk; nephew, Marek Falk; and her extended family.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Lan Su Chinese Garden, 239 NW Everett St., Portland, OR, 97209 on February 7 at 5:30 p.m.
