Sandra “Sandy” Howells passed away peacefully on Feb. 22, 2022.
Born to Delores and John Crotty on April 24, 1959, in Portland, OR, Sandy was the youngest girl of five children. She graduated from Fort Vancouver High School and studied to become a healthcare provider. In 1990, Sandy gave birth to her son Mitchell and continued to work providing in-home healthcare services for numerous residents around Vancouver and the surrounding towns for the next 30 years.
Sandy loved the outdoors and walking regularly in her favorite places, including Battle Ground Lake State Park. She was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother, a loyal friend and kind neighbor. She dedicated her life to helping others and she leaves behind a legacy of selfless service.
Sandy was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her son, Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Sarah; grandchildren, Lorelei and Finn; her brothers, Dennis, Patrick and Steven; her sister, Denise; and numerous other loved ones. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Glioblastoma Foundation on her behalf.

Sandy was the Best Friend a guy could ask for. I thought she was the Most Beautiful Woman I had ever seen even on tv or in the movies. Word can not express what our friendship has meant to me . We met in 1972 at the start of eighth grade. She was caring to a fault. She would drop everything at a drop of a hat for family. I love her and she will aways be a part of me.

I saw the picture and recognized a friend from junior high as she looked just as I remembered her. Sandy was one of the friendliest people I knew and I remembered her easy going nature and kind friendship. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My condolences to her family at this time.

I was friends with Sandy in junior high and high school and she was always the sweetest and kindest person. I'm not surprised she was a caregiver. It takes a special person to do that and I'm sure her clients loved her. Thank you for sharing this picture. That's exactly as I remember her. So sorry for your loss.
