Samantha Diane "Sam" Pazen

April 8, 1967 ˜ October 16, 2021

On Oct. 16, 2021 Sam’s four-year battle with ovarian cancer ended. She fought hard and kept a brave positive attitude. Her inspiration for the last two years was the joy and love she had for her first grandchild, Owen William Perry. Anyone in hearing distance would see pictures and videos of Owen and hear the proud grandma talk about her “busy” grandson. She was looking forward to the addition of Owen’s little sister in April 2022. Sam was born into a military family in Landstuhl, Germany. She moved to Vancouver with her family when she was six years old and graduated from Mountain View High School. Sam was a homemaker and volunteered for the Vancouver Housing Authority where she was awarded Volunteer of the Year two years in a row.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years. Chris Pazen; her son, Joshua Perry (Nichole); her grandson, Owen Perry; her mother, Laura Perry; her siblings, Floyd Perry Jr. (Dana), Thomas Perry, Linda Maddy (Michael); and many nieces and nephews. Memory donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

My condolences to the family. Sam loved her family, always talking about her son and grandson. Sam was a good friend and spent so many hours volunteering for me at Vancouver Housing. She was always there when I needed her. I am so shocked she's gone I had just messaged her asking how she was and as always she would say ok and go on about her family. Beginning of October she asked me if I needed anything or any help as Christmas is approaching. Always thinking of all of us no matter what she was going through. Our last conversation was about our trips to Seaside, Sam and Chris loved those trips. I'm going to miss you Sam. Kathi Ortega
