Paul J. Lehner

Paul J. Lehner was born to John and Alice Lehner on April 2, 1949, at their home in Battle Ground and died at his home in Battle Ground Dec. 29, 2021, after a battle with cancer. Paul loved his family and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and cruising with family and friends. He was a great athlete and coached many teams, but he especially loved to watch his grandchildren play sports. After retirement from a 25-year career at Blue Bell Potato Chips, he started A Cut Above Lawn Service in 2003 with his son, Jason.
Paul is survived by his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Weisenborn Lehner, whom he married on Oct. 3, 1970. He is also survived by their two children, Heather Grotte and Jason Lehner; son-in-law, Jason Grotte; daughter-in-law, Casey Lehner; and six grandchildren, Hailey Grotte, Jayce Grotte, Jaylyn Lehner, Luke Lehner, Jaiden Olafson, and Blake Olafson. Paul was truly loved by all and will be missed.
A service will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Battle Ground on Friday, Jan. 7, at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome.

While working in my yard one day, I was struggling with a yard project. Paul happen to be working across the street. He noticed I was struggling and came right over to help me. Such a kind and thoughtful man. I will never forget him. He also coached my sons basketball team. He was great with the boys. Paul will be missed.

Our sympathy to Cheryl Pete and family . When when we were growing up Paul would stop by on his bicycle paper route and had the the time to play a game of Horse shooting hoops attached to the old barn. He always beat us , good ball player
