I remember the Summer day in 1990 when we met Pat. Our Son, Vaughn, was 2 1/2 years old and ran full speed through the front door of Tucker Maxon. Pat greeted Vaughn with warmth and enthusiam. Over the years, Pat guided us not just through oral education but cochlear implantation and the challenges of Vaughn's visual impairment. He was also a delight to work with on our Oregon AG Bell projects. PAT IS FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS.

It has been a lifetime since I had seen my Uncle Pat but I had so many fond memories of the time we spent with him when I was younger. The baby of the Stone Family, he looked up to my mother in so many ways as she had almost been a second mother to him. I loved his bear hugs, his long flowing hair, his beard and his laugh. My condolences to all my stone cousins on the loss of their fine father , such a dear man

I just heard about Uncle Pat's passing from our cousin, Katie. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a great, kind, and wonderful man. I remember fondly the times in the 70s after you moved to the NW and we were able to see each other quite often then. I had to smile when I read about your dad singing off key in the car, I never knew that about him, but I can tell you my dad was the exact same ! Quite loud and very out of tune! But so fun! This must have been especially hard on your mom, as she had a beautiful singing voice! I'm thinking of all of you and wish you all the best.

Pat Stone welcomed our son into the Tucker-Maxon family in 1983. He was a brilliant educator, head master, and innovator. He was passionate about solving problems, and helping countless children learn to communicate. As the leader of Tucker-Maxon oral school, he assembled a team of dedicated professionals that worked very hard every day. He supported our decision to investigate a cochlear implant for our son at the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles. At the time it was considered an experimental device for hearing impaired children. With his support after the surgery, it was a turning point for our son, and he created a successful implant program at Tucker-Maxon. We are forever indebted to Dr. Stone and we will never forget him, and what he accomplished.

Patrick Stone was not only a great teacher at Tucker Maxon but also a wonderful person. His roles impacted many deaf people for many years. I cherish numerous fond memories with him from my days as a student. He significantly influenced the person I've become. I am truly grateful for his thoughtful guidance and support, not only for me but also for my parents. Rest in peace!

Saddened to hear about the loss of a wonderful man. I'll never forget when he came to Montana to testify on my behalf as my school discriminated against me. When I was early in my career as a dentist Dr. Stone was kind enough to give me a list of other deaf and hard of hearing dentists in our nation. He sure made sure none of his students felt left out.

My heart is very sad to hear of Pat´s passing. He touched so many lives! Our son Brian had the privilege and honor to attend Tucker Maxon! Thanks to Pat and his fabulous leadership and love of his students, our son has been able to achieve a beautiful and fully mainstreamed life. Thankyou Pat for your total commitment and belief in all of your students.

Why did this photo look so familiar? Suddenly it came to me; It's Pat, one of the finest, dedicated gentlemen I had worked with in my long career. I was his project evaluator for a few years at Tucker-Maxon Oral School during the late '90s. Calm, peaceful and thoughtful, it was a pleasure to work with Pat in fleshing out ideas and resolving issues in our path to demonstrate the profound value of oral language instruction of the hearing impaired.
