Mary Margaret Woodford, "Everybody's Mom," age 59, of Seaside, Oregon and Battle Ground, Washington.
After an eight-year battle with cancer Mary Woodford gained her own independence and freed herself from the vessel she has been utilizing on this earth. She passed quickly and peacefully, with fireworks pronouncing her last breath right outside her hospital window; a prophetic end to an amazing, beautiful, and glorious life. Her struggle ended when heaven called back one of its angels and she passed on.
Mary's kindness and compassion, unwavering optimism, and strong spirit were present until the end. The profound sadness is overwhelming, but the Woodford family is comforted knowing our wife and mother is at peace and without pain in the arms our Heavenly Father and Son.
Mary attended several Battle Ground schools and graduated from BGHS in 1977. She earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing from Washington State University Vancouver. Mary's nursing career was extensive beginning early-on at Bess Kaiser Hospital in Pediatric ICU in Portland. She worked as an In-Home Care and Oncology nurse for Southwest Washington Medical Center, and finally as a Nurse Practitioner at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital.
Mary leaves behind Jeff, her beloved husband of 40 years and their five extraordinary children: Angela Reese (Cory), Elizabeth Ramirez (David), Matthew Woodford (Bobbi Jo), Catherine Deignan (Bill) and Mark Woodford (Jacqui) - Eight grandchildren: Braxton, Avery, Crew, Frederick, Joseph, Claire, Quinn and Corinne - Five siblings; Rebecca, Clara, Joe, Howard and Paul and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Doris Bafford.
Mary was a remarkable woman with many amazing attributes and gifts. Always a calm and caring demeanor, a gentle spirit of being, and a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She was Everybody's Mom and had a large circle of friends and a network of admirers. If strength, love, perseverance, and a desire to live were enough to sustain a body, Mary would have lived an eternity as a mortal.
The Woodford's humbly and graciously thank every family member, every friends, and the army of health care professionals who all held Mary's life and our family's lives together these past years. To know her was to love her and to want to be more like her. As a tribute to her, she reminds us;
"Every day is a gift. Never take it for granted."
"It's a Wonderful Life. Live it to the fullest. Find your Pollyanna place."
"A mother never passes, she lives on through her children."
"Be extra kind to each other, especially to your parents, siblings and children."
"Perform a random act of kindness every day, or pay it forward, or volunteer somewhere."

My condolences to the Woodford and Bafford families. I remember Mary Margaret as a precocious child when I would play with my cousins Becky and Clara, when my grandma took me to the farm. The times I saw her as an adult showed a wonderful, caring, welcoming lady, and a loving wife, mother, sister, relative, friend, nurse, and much more. Such a great loss to all, and many, who loved her. Beautifully written obituary. Best wishes to her many loved ones grieving now and always.❤

Mary, your spirit, tenacity and strength will carry with me always, continuing those conversations with myself of "what would Mary, do or think". No whining is worth it,always give to those less fortunate and love life, family,God and yourself. It's a more wonderful Life because of you.
