LONNIE DEAN TIPTON
February 12, 1956 ˜ October 17, 2021
With his loving family surrounding him, Lonnie Dean Tipton passed away at home Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021. Lonnie was born in Vancouver, WA, Feb. 12th, 1956, to Norman and Olga Tipton. He grew up in Washougal, WA, graduating from WHS in 1974. He excelled in sports, making all-star teams in Little League and Babe Ruth. In high school he was the starting quarterback on the football team, made all-state team in basketball, and played short stop on two state championship baseball teams.
He worked in the Non-Woven department at the paper mill, and then in the industrial area when that department separated from the mill. He loved The Lord, his time fishing, enjoying his music, watching sports on TV, but most of all spending time with his family. His wife, daughter, son, and two grandkids were the light of his life, and he loved telling others about them. Lonnie was a kind and caring man who always thought of others first. Even in his last years while confined to a wheelchair, he never complained, but was always smiling and enjoying life.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents who he was quoted as saying, “My dream is that someday every child on this planet is lucky enough to have a Mom and Dad as loving as Olga and Norman. God bless them.” He is survived by his wife, Debbie Tipton; daughter, Quinn Blanchard (Ricky); son, Chase Tipton (Felicia); brother, Rod Tipton (Maureen); sister, Carol Gifford (Larry); grandchildren, Lake and Bearon Dean Blanchard; and many nieces and nephews.
Please join us to celebrate Lonnie’s life and share stories of time spent with him Saturday, Nov. 20, from 2-5 p.m. at Lacamas Lake Lodge, 227 NW Lake Rd, Camas, WA.
