June 30, 1936 ˜ January 6, 2022
Laverne June Kelley was born on June 30, 1936, in Ellensburg, WA, and passed away peacefully January 6, 2022. Laverne grew up in Ellensburg and attended Washington State University. After college, she moved to Seattle and met the love of her life, Gordon O’Reilly, while on a double-date. They married in 1957 and had three daughters: Erin, Kelley, and Eileen.
Laverne worked at the University of Washington in housing and risk management, and she eventually retired as an executive assistant. She was passionate about traveling the world with her husband and her daughters. She loved golfing, playing with her grandkids, the ocean, volunteering at children’s hospital, and reuniting with her Ellensburg High School friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gordon; her three daughters, Erin (Mark), Kelley (Georgiann), and Eileen (Blake); her seven grandchildren, and her three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend thanks to the caretakers at the Hampton Inn at Salmon Creek for their warm and compassionate care of Laverne her last six years of life. A special thank you to Betty Hansen, who went out of her way to ensure Laverne always felt loved and cared for.
The family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Seattle Children’s Hospital in Laverne’s name.
