You took a group of us off-beat students to see Romeo and Juliet at your Alma mater, Reed College. After the play, we went to Rose's and ate huge pieces of cake. Mr. Christian, you were a great teacher!

Mr. Christian, as I shall always call him, was truly one of the most influential human beings I have ever known. I owe Mr. Christian a debt of gratitude for fostering in me a deep desire for learning and an insatiable quest for knowledge and truth. Thank you for being a difficult teacher, thank you for encouraging me to attend college; and most of all, thank you for believing I could.

I offer my heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. Christian and family.

Thank you for everything, Mr. Christian. Your constant insistence on quality (or Quality?) made me a better thinker and a better scholar. You will be well remembered by your students--I hope you knew how much you influenced us. Safe travels.

Mr. Christian taught me to appreciate good literature for its own sake. More importantly, he taught me to think with a broader perspective, look beyond the surface, and find meaning. For that, I am forever grateful. May your family find peace and comfort in knowing the important role he played in students' lives.

Marcia and Amanda,
I was so thankful to get to sit and spend time with you and your family on Sunday night the night before Juan passed when I brought your mom and dad (grandma and grandpa) over to see him. It meant a lot to me that I could stay over that evening to allow everyone time together. I am praying for your family and I hope to see you soon. Let Visiting Angels know if there is anything we can do to help.

Juan Christian played a major role in my son Carson Davis' ability to write well and to be a critical thinker. Mr. Christian truly exemplified the best of high school English teaching. His legacy lives on forever in the students who carry that learning forward.

Thank you Mr. Christian, and much sympathy to the Christian family.
