JAMES DWIGHT LARSEN
October 11, 1921 ~ August 28, 2012
"Everyone who took the time to talk to Dwight
quickly became his friend."
Dwight Larsen passed away at home in La Center, WA on Aug. 28th, 2012. He was born on Oct. 11th, 1921 in Rumsey, Alberta, Canada. He moved to La Center, WA when he was 3-years-old and graduated from La Center High School in 1939.
Soon after school, he went into the Air Force and acquired the rank of Staff Sergeant while in Saipan.
After returning home, he met the love of his life, Georgia Driver. They were married in 1947 and later started their family.
Dwight continued his family construction business. He was very proud of the numerous houses, barns, buildings, and churches he built.
Dwight retired in 1986 and settled on their farm raising cattle. You would often find him on his tractor mowing, taking his grandchildren for rides or roaming his property on his mini-bike. He enjoyed visiting family and friends in Canada, along with trips to Reno. He also had fun playing weekly card games with his neighbors.
He was a great friend to all and would help
anyone who needed it. You could always
count on him for his stories and jokes,
whether you wanted to hear them or not.
Dwight is survived by his wife of 65 years, Georgia (Driver) Larsen; his sister, Elsie Gordon; his children, Leslie, Leland (Mary), Louann (Steve), and Lisa (Mike); his nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a large extended family in both the U.S. and Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Alice Larsen; his sister, Velma Moon; and his brother, Melvin Larsen.
A service will be held at the Woodland Presbyterian Church, 756 Park St. Woodland, WA at 11:00 a.m., Sat., Sept 8th.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and staff at Legacy Salmon Creek as well as Hospice for their great care and support.

I always enjoyed running into Dwight at the grocery store and visiting with him. . My family has known him for many, many years! I hope he and my dad are up in Heaven hanging out together and reminiscing about old times!

I have wonderful memories of your Dad from our younger days.One of my favorites is going with your dad and mom to the Oak Tree and getting a hamburger. i also remember his smile. I am so sorry for your loss.
