Freda Berry Obituary

Freda Berniece Berry, 86, passed away August 6, 2007. She was born July 30, 1921, in Mitchell NE, to John Elbert Payne and Gertrude Grable. Freda was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She spent many years volunteering for The Salmon Creek American Legion, VFW, Boy Scouts Of America, Hazel Dell Little League and Salmon Creek Elementary School. She won Salmon Creek Citizen of the Year in about 1975. In later years, Freda and her husband Paul spent many hours performing country music for various nursing homes. Although Alzheimer's took its toll on Freda's memory over the last 12 years, it could not dampen her sense of humor or her love for her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family. She is survived by her sons: Ronald (Dairis) and Raymond LaFord and Wayne (Tammy) Berry; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Paul, and granddaughter, Stacey LaFord. A graveside service will be held August 13, 2007, 11:00am, at Northwood Park Cemetery in Ridgefield, WA. Donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Alzheimer's Foundation of America, in memory of Freda Berry.
