Dorothy Paradis Obituary

DOROTHY RUSSELL PARADIS
July 8, 1927 ˜ November 3, 2021

Dorothy Marie Russell Paradis, age 94, passed peacefully in Vancouver, WA, Nov. 3, 2021, 90 minutes after talking with her children. She was born July 8, 1927, in Hoquiam, WA, as the youngest child of Edward Conrad Fredolph Russell (Sweden) and Astrid Caroline Solby Russell (Norway). She grew up in Olympia, WA, with her elder siblings, Gordon Edward Russell, Ida Astrid Russell Overly, and Agnes Hildegard Russell Ulery. All are deceased along with her previous spouses, Jesse Wills and Loyal Paradis.
Dorothy “Mariea” worked as a secretary and helped her husband of 35 years, Dr. Loyal Paradis, manage his chiropractic business in Eugene, OR. They enjoyed fishing in their boat, RV traveling, and lovingly built a small home in Mexico. Dorothy was especially proud of her Scandinavian heritage, and she was a talented oil painter. Her high energy and good health gave her the zest to tackle change and challenges.
When Loyal passed in 2017 from their longtime Snowberry Village home in Bend, OR, Dorothy moved to Vancouver to be closer to her daughter.
She is survived by daughter, Kay Wills Cooke (Bob) of Vancouver, WA; and son, Ted Wills (Teresa) of Milton, WA. She leaves her four grandchildren, Blake Bridges, Cole Bridges, Caleb Wills, Elyse Wills; two great-grandchildren, Saxton and Tenley-Blue Bridges; and three maternal nieces. Special thanks to the staff of Brookdale Stonebridge and PeaceHealth Hospice for their loving care of Dorothy during her descent into dementia.
