Dottie was our next door neighbor. We talked at our fence for an hour when we first moved here. Her love of Jesus was evident as was her love of her neighbors. She would make us chocolate candies at Christmas and I remember her canned salsa was the best ever!! She would come play Bunco with us once in a while and she was so much fun to have in the group. We hear the family and kids at her house so often and they always sound like they are having a great time. Such a sweet, sweet lady. She will be truly missed.

My best memories of Dottie are from all the games her and Don attended with me. Dottie always went above and beyond for the boys. She knew every kid and their names and numbers and by the end of the year she felt like they were part of the family. My favorite of these memories was at about 3 or 4 years into baseball, all the kids were trying really hard and our team was ahead. She always shouted encouragement to every batter, and when one little guy on the opposing team struck out for the third time and turned dejected to walk back to the dugout, Dottie hollered at him "that´s okay you´ll get him next time!" Then she looked at me a little teary eyed and said, "I want our guys to win but I want every kid to do well too." We laughed a little and I said "me too Dottie, me too!" And that is one of the best memories I have and shows how huge her heart was. Every body fit in it and we were all always welcome. She will be so very badly missed! To the Finley clan I am so very sorry, your Mom was one of the nicest sweetest little spitfires I know. And to Don, the example you and Dottie showed the world with your loving marriage was a wonderful example for us all. I am so sorry. Dottie will live on in the kindness and love she showered on us all. What a beautiful Angel Heaven got when God called Dottie home. May she Rest In Peace.
