Carolyn Lucille Hays

Carolyn Lucille Hays, born to Albert and Faye Yankee Nov. 5, 1943, passed away Nov. 8, 2021.
She was the middle child of three children born and raised in Vancouver, WA. She later graduated from Hudson Bay High School. She later moved to Washougal, WA, working at the Camas papermill for many years and where she met the love of her life and husband for 48 years, Duane Hays. Together they raised three kids. Carolyn took pride in her active volunteer work, helping with after school reading programs, serving on the election board and being an active member of the Sunnyside women’s club and her church. She was an avid lover of the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing and camping with her family. She was a devoted friend and loyal friend, had a great sense of humor she shared with all and loved the lord. She was wildly loved and will be so missed.
She is survived by her husband, Duane Hays of Washougal, WA; son, Tony Hays and wife Judi of Kelso, WA; daughter, Tina Conlee of Fossil, OR; son, Ken Hays and wife Valerie of Yakima, WA; her grandchildren, Nichole Hays, Meagan Hays, Carson Conlee and Gavin Conlee; her great-grandson, Travis; older brother, Ron Yankee; and younger sister, Janice Benson.

We´ve known Carolyn for many years. We were so glad to see her recently. I will so miss the hours spent on the telephone with her! Duane I want you to know we are thinking of you and your family.
