CANDACE MARIE KAPPUS
August 2, 1984 ˜ September 22, 2021

Candace Marie Kappus, 37, passed away Sept. 22, 2021 in Woodland, WA. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date for Washington friends. Details to come.
Candace was born to Karl and Becky Kappus in Ogden, UT, Aug. 2, 1984. She grew up in Utah until she was six years old and then moved to Albuquerque, NM, with her parents. Candace moved to Phoenix, AZ, followed by Tucson, AZ, before finally landing in the Vancouver, WA, area.
A generally quiet and gentle soul, her competitiveness would reign supreme when watching her favorite sports and playing her favorite games. Candace loved to play pinochle, but her true passion was for football. She was a massive fan of the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed playing fantasy football with friends and was the current defending champion of her league. Candace was always with her partner and best friend Mike Schenck. They would often go on long drives to Cougar, WA, to get lunch and enjoy the beautiful scenery. She also loved to go camping at Goose Lake and would frequently take trips to the Oregon coast. Candace was the sweetest person you had ever met. She was a great friend and people genuinely loved her for her kind and shy character.
Candace is survived by her parents, Karl and Becky Kappus. Friends and family may contact Caitie Kershaw for further details on a celebration of life. She can be reached at Kershaw.ca[email protected]

My condolences to Candaces family. This so heartbreaking. I'm glad I had a few great days and some epic stories with her. She was so wicked smart and knew her Football. She was so private and quite at times. I'm glad I got her into a dress and makeup once. I'm going to miss my friend. We grew apart in the last year with Covid19 restrictions and life in general. May she find peace and happiness. I will forever think of you when I watch Greenbay play. I may even root for a touch down for ya.
