GENE LESTER YARNELL
December 9, 1928 ~ March 8, 2015

Gene L. Yarnell died peacefully on the morning of March 8, 2015 surrounded by members of his beloved family. Born December 9, 1928 in Klamath Falls, Oregon, he was the son of Lester H. Yarnell and Tessie O. Yarnell (Mackay) and the brother of Helen Wright (Yarnell). Gene grew up on the outskirts of Klamath Falls, graduated from Oregon State University in accounting and while there met his first wife, Marilyn L. Yarnell (Jones) of Redondo Beach, California. They raised three children, Paul L. Yarnell (spouse Karen Saput-Yarnell), Ellen M. Yarnell (spouse Cynthia Butts) and Patricia D. Yarnell. In 1971, Gene married Joanne Yarnell (Tweed), a marriage that lasted for rest of his life. Loved by all, he is survived by his wife, Joanne; sister, Helen; children, Paul, Ellen and Patricia; step-daughter, Nicholette Lahy; grandchildren, Jennifer Takahashi, Jeremiah Hager and Chris Yarnell; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and cousins. Remembrances can be sent to PeaceHealth Hospice SW.
