Geneva Eleanore Fanselau, 95, was born in a three room adobe house on January 28th, 1919, in Burlington, Colorado. She died in Vancouver, Washington on January 15th, 2015 of natural causes. Geneva was the third of three daughters born to August and Lilly Fanselau. Her sisters, Mildred and Leona preceded her in death. Geneva grew up on the eastern prairies of Colorado and attended Smokey Point school from 1st thru 10th grades. In 1934, she moved with her family to Newberg, Oregon. She attended St. Paul Union High School for two years where she was senior class president. She met her husband, Delmer Wohlgemuth, in the Newberg area and they were married in 1940. They settled in Vancouver and raised their family there. Delmer preceded her in death in 2002. She earned a Bachelor's degree in 1990, from University of Portland and taught in the Vancouver School System.
Geneva is survived by three sons, Craig (Polly) Wohlgemuth of Vancouver, WA, Loren (Carolyn) Wohlgemuth of Mt. Vernon, WA and Mark Wohlgemuth of Anchorage AK; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00p.m., January 24th at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Avenue, Vancouver, Washington, 98684.
