David R. Schultz, 52, passed away peacefully Nov. 28, 2006. He was born in Wenatchee, WA on May 5, 1954 to Raymond and Lenore Schultz. David graduated from University High School in Spokane, WA in 1972. He then joined the U.S. Air Force where he was a Dangerous Cargo Specialist at McCord AFB in Tacoma, WA and served on the Presidential Squad at Andrew's AFB near Washington D.C. He worked as a highway transportation engineer for the State of Washington Dept. of Transportation for 26 years. David received an Associates of Arts degree in Business Management at Clark College. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patricia, as well as son, Scott, and daughter, Heather. He is also survived by his mother, Lenore Schultz of Vancouver, and sister, Kathleen Smith of Frederick, MD. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Schultz, and sister, Rayell Petermann. David enjoyed spending time at the coast, going on long drives in his convertible with the top down, tinkering around the house, throwing darts, and sharing a laugh with friends. He will be remembered as a leader in his community; holding offices with his union, Neighborhood Association, clubs and Church; as well as someone who was brave and rarely complained about his lengthy illness. A service is being planned at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 16001 NE 34th St., on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at 2:00pm. The family suggests that donations be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, The American Diabetic Association, or the National Kidney Foundation, in lieu of flowers.
