Francis B. Reagan, 85, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Sept. 26, 2009. He was born July 6, 1924 in Nason, IL. He graduated from Clark College, and the Evergreen State College.
Francis married Juanita Divine on June 6, 1948 at Fort George Wright Chapel in Spokane, WA. They had four children, Joseph D., Julie E., Nola K. and John F.
Francis entered the United States Army, Shamokin, PA in Sept. 1940, retiring in Dec. 1962 as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He served on a B-29 combat crew and served more than five wartime years overseas during the Korean war and World War II.
After service in Europe, Asia, South America and points between, he settled in Vancouver and loved the northwest. This was his home.
Francis retired as a Federal Civil Servant. He was a Revenue Officer for the Internal Revenue Service. He also retired as Officer-in-charge of Food and Nutrition Service for western Oregon and southwestern Washington, helping to develop the Federal Food Stamp Program, Women, Infants and Children's nutrition program and was involved with disaster food programs and school lunch and breakfast programs.
Francis was an active Democrat, a Disabled American Veteran, 40 et 8, American Legion, 7th Bomb Group and 98th Bomb Group veteran.
He enjoyed freedom, studied history and believed in his country. Francis pursued writing, gardening and enjoyed good music.
A memorial service will be held Sat., Oct. 3, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at the Vancouver Barracks Post Cemetery with a reception following at the VFW Post #14, 4607 NE St. James Rd., Vancouver, WA.
Donations in his honor may be sent to the Clark College Foundation. "Cut flowers wilt, while gifts to the Clark College Foundation will cause local people to grow".
