Our beloved friend Mike will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, his charitable and compassionate heart. We treasure the many memories organizing fundraising events and festivals, music and laughter, gatherings and delicious meals at his beautiful home. He shared his bountiful garden, resources and ideas. I will miss him forever and I will miss his beautiful smile!! May God bring comfort and peace to Ruth and his family. God is embracing him as his dearly and loved son.

I send my deepest condolences to the Caldaron family during this difficult time. The Hispanic community was lucky to have an advocate like Mike. My parent's Alfonso & Felix Espinoza were part of first Hispanics to join St. John's to have someone like Mike who was bilingual was something that they appreciated very much. Mike was a person who helped everyone with a smile. He loved his community. You will be missed and your legacy will forever live on.
RIP Mike

Mike was one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to know. My Grandma Anne and I would always love seeing him when we would come to mass. I got to know Mike when I worked with him at WHO. He was a great leader and a great role model. When I would come to mass by myself after my Grandmother when to a memory care facility he would always ask me how she was doing. God called another angel to join him in heaven when Mike left us. Thank you for sharing him ♡

I am so sorry for your loss. You and Mike lived a true love story. Although I was just your Food Safety Inspector (Inspectora de alimentos) I certainly enjoyed visiting with you and meeting Mike while I inspected BBQs and Luncheons. I only met Mike once but I never forgot him!! What a great guy. As they say...a life well lived! Cherish all the memories and know you will see him again. Aloha Hui Hou. ( Farewell until we all meet again ) I live in Hawaii now. Hawaiian is way more difficult than Spanish. I’m sending you a big virtual hug across the pond.

Mike, what a role model he was for all of us. Mike was one of a kind, inspiring, a true leader, organizer, welcoming, always ready to help regardless of what was needed. He was one of the special people that always had a special glow about him. He was hard to say no to because he never said no to anyone.

Rest in peace Mike, we will never forget you. To Ruth and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'll always remember how lovely and kind he was to my mother. He was the first face we saw when attending mass. He always made sure my mom was seated,in her wheel chair, in a good spot to see the mass. Just a few simple little words from him always made people feel welcomed and comfortable. And he also could answer all your questions. A very good man, gone too soon.

I am so sorry for your loss and you and your family are in my prayers. These are hard times and you need support which I know your family is giving you. I do have a couple of suggestions , having been and still going through the process. A grief support group is so helpful and I highly recommend it. Also, the first year your mind is in a fog (even though you don't think so at the time). Try not to make big decisions during that time. My phone # is 360-892-8796 if you want a listening ear or just some girl talk. Take care one day at a time.

I have been a parishioner of St. John's for over 20 years. I have left the church for one reason or another for months at a time. When I would return, there was Mr. Calderon at the church door, inviting me in, inviting me back! I was always in awe of how his faith was so steadfast and strong. And thought, one day I want to be like him about my faith. I never saw him upset with anyone and always had a smile on his face. In my eyes, he and his wife are the epitome of what a Catholic/Christian couple should represent. Even though he probably never knew my name or had a long conversation with me, he made quite an impact on me and my religious life. I will miss his smiling face as I come to church in the future.
God's angels are waiting for you with open arms Mr Calderon, because you were one of his angels on Earth!
My heartfelt sympathy for Mrs. Calderon and his family.

I only knew him for a short time. I moved into the church's area and then moved out again a few years later. I did work with him as a cashier when the Church was running a fireworks stand for the fourth of July.

I found him to be a great person, enjoyable to be around, and very inspiring.

In 2015 I had a very serious heart attack, and am now wheelchair-bound (And confined to my home since March 5, 2020, due to Covid-19 threat to people with a bad heart.)I will say some prayers for Mike. May he rest in peace.) The picture is about 6 years old but closer to what I looked like when knew him.

Mike was a very special being, he had a gift that not a lot of people have. He was right on the the Seen if any one needed help, weather he knew you or heard about your needs, Mike was there to help. He was the greatest at getting people involved by donating or volunteering. It was an honor to call Mike a friend and we have lost a great part of fellowship here at St Johns. To Ruth and family, our prayers are with you. If we can help, call

Mike's generous love and friendly welcoming has blessed St John's and the community year after year. I have many childhood memories with Mike at St. John’s. From Beast Feasts to retreats, he was always there. He always reminded me of how my family was one of the first Hispanic families who attended the Spanish mass and that he really worked hard to make it possible for us to have mass in Spanish. He told me that he remembered that he would go and pick up my grandfather to attend mass. I really enjoyed the encounters that we had when we would see him greeting us when going to mass. You will be dearly missed Mike!

I have known Mike and his loving wife, Ruth, for many years. Growing up in this area, attending St. John the Evangelist and attending school with his kid’s. His love for God and fellow people shined brightly in his life. As an adult I participated in many functions at our church with Mike. His heart was overflowing with love, equality, service and wonderful wisdom. We are sending our love, sympathy and blessings to all the Calderon families. Jim and Carolyn (Parsons) Palmer

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember growing up and seeing Mr Calderon all of the time at church. I don't remember a time that he wasn't smiling and being kind. A funny memory I have was with Anthony one night at CCD. It was way back in the days where Rudolf was only shown on tv one time per year, and that year it happened to fall on a Wednesday night. Anthony's parents picked him up early so he wouldn't miss it. I just remember thinking, WOW, Anthony has the coolest parents in the world! Funny the things we remember. I'm grateful to have grown up sharing smiles with this wonderful man. Thank you for sharing him with us.
