Xenia Pickett Skaggs, 92, passed away on April 26, 2011 in Vancouver, WA. She was born in Portland, OR on April 19,1919 to Harold and Sadie Sprague. She attended Beaumont Elementary School and Grant High School.
In 1939, Xenia married Charles B. Pickett and had three sons, Tom, Barry and Steve.
She was a beautician, but her first love was her husband and raising her boys enjoying family activities including fishing, playing ball, going to the beach and picnics.
They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary before he passed away in 1965. She then went back to school at Clark College and became a library assistant and worked at Lewis Jr. High and McLoughlin Jr. High until her retirement in 1978.
In 1973, Xenia married Randy Potter who taught her to play golf, but died suddenly on the golf course in 1974.
She then met Robert Skaggs through mutual friends and celebrated their 29th anniversary before his passing in 2006. They enjoyed golf, playing cards, square dancing and were "snow birds" traveling to Arizona for 20 years.
She had a love for sewing, cooking desserts and all kinds of crafts.
Xenia is survived by sons, Thomas D. Pickett (Pat), Steven H. Pickett (Sondra); step-daughter, Roberta Skaggs; step-sons, Bruce Schatz and Lew Schatz; grandchildren, Michelle, Chrisie, Melissa, Lisa, Vicki, Karl, Hannah, and Shareece; great-grandchildren, Kaylah, Jessica, Thomas, Tyson, Tatum , Sadie, McKenna, Marissa, and Matilda, Alaina, and Michael; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; a son, Charles Barry Pickett on April 1, 2011; a grandson, Gordon Charles Pickett in 1985; and a brother, Bud Sprague.
A funeral service will be held on Sun., May 1, 2011 at 3:00 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
